| sown in April and May 2000 with an extensive composition masterclass taught by Dr. Linda Schwartz, culminating in a mind-blowing performance. Four of the current members of the Cinq attended this masterclass, and were so inspired by it that they decided to study further with Dr. Schwartz, namely at a composition seminar class at the Canadian Mennonite University inthe Fall of 2000. There they were joined by a fifth composer, and the name for the five members arose out of a stressful brainstorming session. Two very successful and unique concerts were given at the University by the group, and after the course ended, it was agreed that the friendship and composition would continue. | |
